The American Russell Terrier Foundation Club was invited to attend the 2007 AKC Parent Club Conference on July 22 and 23, 2007.  Our delegate, Avril Black, reported that the conference provided a wonderful opportunity to network and get new ideas from other AKC breed clubs.  Plus,  there was a special session for FSS breeds that was very informative and answered many questions.  Mari-Beth O'Neill indicated that no breeds will be going in the miscellaneous class until July 2008.  That does not mean the Russells will go in at that time, but it does mean it won't be before then.  The conference was first class all the way- thank you to the AKC and Eukanuba.

This is a photo of the panel of AKC speakers who discussed FSS breed standards.  Thank you Peggy for the educational and often funny presentation.  Also, a special thank you to Mari-Beth O'Neill for the extra time you spent answering questions for our club's representative.  A huge thanks to Paula Spector for the outstanding organization.
